![]() ![]() Publishing under the name Emily Chubbuck, Judson wrote several successful children's books between 18. ![]() Her writing career divides into three clearly defined phases in each she wrote under a different name. Judson's short life span of 36 years was a full and varied one. With the income from those books, she was able to buy her family a home and to make their lives comfortable. She rose from poverty eventually to find fame and wealth with her early children's books. Enrolled at the Utica Female Seminary for one year, she remained there as a teacher of English composition from 1841 to 1846.
